Welcome! Bienvinido! Benvenuto!
Here is the first post to the fishingartworks blog. My name is Jim Roszel. About a year ago I caught a large striped bass at Pip's Rip in the Cape Cod Canal, what a great place to fish, but more on that in another post. It was such a memorable fish that I was excited to do a life-size painting of the creature. It seemed natural to the composition to underline the fish with the rod and the plug that it took, (a mackerel gibbs pencil popper), and to inscribe the painting with the length, the weight, the date, and the location. After a few months the painting was done, I was so excited, what a wonderful way to capture a fish! The painting has a very commanding presence and the colors capture the fresh lively look when the bass come out of the water. People that saw the painting would say that I should take commissions, so I have, and I have also started www.fishingartworks.com where I also have my watercolors of fish, flies and lures. Please have a look and let me know if you would like a painting done. Thanks for your visit!
Jim
